Whipped Feta

From snacking to constructing the perfect charcuterie board, there’s never a bad time to make Whipped Feta! The texture is super creamy, and it’s perfect for dipping veggies, pita, and so much more. Best of all, this recipe comes together in minutes flat. Just whip and enjoy!

Have you ever tried making Whipped Feta at home? Because the texture is so creamy and luscious, you might think there’s some big secret behind it. In reality, you only need 5 ingredients and a few minutes to make this luscious, creamy, and tangy dip.

The trick is to let a food processor or blender do all the hard work for you. As it breaks down the crumbly feta into a smooth dip, the blades will also add air that makes the final texture so light and fluffy. It’s downright irresistible!

From charcuterie boards to a crowd-pleasing appetizer to an anytime snack, Whipped Feta is always a winner. Let’s see how it’s done!

WHAT YOU’LL LOVE ABOUT Whipped Feta

  • It’s ready in under 5 minutes and needs just 5 ingredients.
  • It’s the perfect dip or spread, and it’s so good on charcuterie boards.
  • This is a great way to add flavor to simple recipes.

INGREDIENTS

  • Feta — I recommend full-fat for the best taste and texture.
  • Greek yogurt — Again, full-fat for best results.
  • Olive oil — The higher quality, the better.
  • Garlic — Fresh garlic is best.
  • Lemon zest — From fresh lemons.

HOW TO MAKE WHIPPED FETA

  1. Add all of the ingredients to a food processor or blender.
  2. Pulse until light and fluffy.
  3. Top with a drizzle of olive oil, a pinch of lemon zest, or just gobble it up as it is.

CHEF JENN’S TIPS

  • Whipped Feta is an indulgent treat, but use the best quality ingredients for the best flavor and texture.
  • Don’t over-pulse the feta or it could end up too runny.
  • If your spread is too thick, add a drizzle of more olive oil to smooth it out.

PAIRINGS FOR WHIPPED FETA

My absolute favorite way to enjoy this dish is on a charcuterie board. Serve it with all your favorite dippers like fresh veggies, pita, crackers, and more. Or, try it on this Tomato Bruschetta Board! It would be beautiful alongside Easy Baked Brie with Apple Ginger Chutney or some Spinach and Brie Dip. For a hearty appetizer, try Spicy Pork Tenderloin Crostini with Lime Crema or Prosciutto & Parmesan Puff Pastry Pinwheels.

TOPPINGS FOR WHIPPED FETA DIP

You definitely don’t need any toppings, but they can be a fun way to add more textures and flavors or up your presentation! A drizzle of olive oil, roasted pine nuts, chopped fresh parsley, or even roasted tomatoes would all work beautifully. For a little heat, add some red pepper flakes on top!

WHAT KIND OF FETA IS BEST

I always recommend full-fat feta for this recipe. Feta is already lower in fat than other cheeses, and you’ll get the best, creamiest texture possible. It’s a no-brainer for me.

Of course, if you prefer to use low-fat feta and low-fat Greek yogurt, you’re more than welcome to give it a try. But in my opinion, regular feta is going to give you a better taste and creamier texture than low-fat.

STORAGE

Whipped Feta is going to be best right after it’s prepared. The food processor or blender beats the cheese into a super smooth texture while also adding air that helps the dip feel super light. If you do have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Any extra should be enjoyed within 3 days. I recommend letting the dip come back up to room temperature before serving.

While I love dipping all kinds of snacks in this whipped feta, I have also enjoyed little scoops of it all by itself. It’s that good! Definitely agree about using full fat dairy here.
