Ingredients

  • Corn Chex – Or any flavor Chex. I’ve tried them all and my least favorite was whole wheat Chex, but they all work!
  • Mini pretzel twists – Keep the pretzels small. Big rods won’t work as well.
  • Lucky Charms cereal
  • White melting wafers – You can also use white chocolate chips but watch you don’t overheat them or the chocolate will seize.
  • Mini marshmallows – The wee little dehydrated marshmallows.
  • Green M&Ms
  • Rainbow sprinkles – Or any kind of sprinkles.
Various snack ingredients are arranged on a table, including mini pretzel twists, Corn Chex, Lucky Charms cereal, white melting wafers, mini marshmallows, green M&Ms, and rainbow sprinkles.

How To Make Leprechaun Bait

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat and set it aside.
  2. Combine the Corn Chex, mini pretzels, Lucky Charms cereal, and mini marshmallows.
  3. Melt the white melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals and stirring between each until smooth.
  4. Drizzle the melted wafers over the cereal and pretzel mixture, stirring gently to coat everything evenly.
  5. Spread the mixture out onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer.
  6. Sprinkle the green M&Ms and rainbow sprinkles on top.
  7. Let it sit for about 30 minutes, or until completely set and hardened.
  8. Break into bite-sized pieces and serve!

Serving Suggestions

This treat stands on its own but can be part of a festive St. Patrick’s Day spread. Pair it with green velvet cupcakes, shamrock-shaped cookies, or a colorful fruit platter. It also makes a fun dessert after classic Irish dishes like shepherd’s pie or corned beef and cabbage. For drinks, try serving it with a shamrock shake or green lemonade!

Storage

For the best texture, store Leprechaun Bait in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. If you’re in a warm or humid area, keep it in the fridge to prevent the chocolate from softening.
