What is a Mojito?

A mojito is traditionally a Cuban cocktail made with white rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water, and mint. Its combination of sweetness, citrus, and mint flavors is intended to complement the potent kick of the rum.

A Pomegranate Mojito is a tasty twist made with fresh pomegranate juice. It’s lively and not too sweet, and the mint pairs perfectly with the pomegranate flavor.

Pomegranates are often associated with Chrismas, making this a great Chrismas mocktail. You can also add a shot of alcohol to the drink, turning it into a holiday cocktail. See all my suggestions below!

How to Make A Pomegranate Mojito Mocktail

  1. Muddle the mint leaves with 1-2 teaspoons of sugar in a tall glass to release the mint’s aromatic oils.
  2. Squeeze in the juice from a couple of lime wedges and add them to the bottom of the glass.
  3. Fill the glass with ice cubes that have pomegranate seeds frozen inside.
  4. Pour the pomegranate juice over the top, filling the glass about halfway.
  5. Top off with club soda for that fizzy lift.
  6. Stir gently to combine all the flavors.
  7. Garnish with a sprig of mint and a few frozen pomegranate seeds on top.

Chef Jenn’s Tips

  • Adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more or less sugar.
  • To enhance the mint flavor, clap the mint leaves between your hands before adding them to the glass.
  • If you don’t have pomegranate seeds, a slice of lime or lemon makes a great alternative garnish.
  • If you don’t have a cocktail muddler, you can use the end of a wooden spoon to crush the mint.

Made this mocktail for a little self-care moment, and it was just what I needed after a long day. The tanginess of the pomegranate juice paired with the freshness of the mint was so refreshing. And I also love the vibrant color of this drink. Already planning to make it again for our next girls’ get-together.
