I particularly love this easy dipping sauce recipe because of its fresh and fabulous flavor. The fresh parsley gives it a lively pop of flavor, a touch of lemon gives it a bit of tang, and by using both sour cream and mayonnaise, the results are smooth, cool, creamy, and delicious.

White pepper is the key to this recipe. Not only does it add lovely flavor, but white pepper blends in much nicer so you don’t see black pepper flecks throughout the garlic dip.

What you’ll love about Creamy Garlic Dipping Sauce

  • It’s a quick and easy recipe!
  • It’s garlicky, creamy, and packed with flavor!
  • Made with just a handful of ingredients!

Ingredients

Ingredients for a sauce or dressing arranged on a marble surface, including parsley, garlic, pepper, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, sour cream, and mayonnaise.
  • Sour cream – You can use full-fat or low-fat.
  • Mayonnaise – Use a good-quality mayo.
  • Garlic – Always use fresh garlic. Jarlic doesn’t give the same flavor.
  • Parsley – Fresh parsley, finely chopped.
  • Worcestershire sauce – A little adds so much flavor!
  • Lemon juice – You just need a little bit.
  • Salt and pepper – Season to taste.

Add the sour cream, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and parsley to a small mixing bowl. Stir until combined.

Finely chop the garlic or grate it using a microplane grater for a smoother texture and stronger garlic flavor. Add the garlic to the bowl with the sour cream mixture.

Mix everything together until smooth and evenly combined.

Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve and enjoy!

Chef Jenn’s Tips

  • It’s important to get the garlic as finely chopped as possible. I love using a microplane grater and grating the garlic cloves. This gets them more finely “chopped” than any knife or food processor.
  • This garlic and herb dip recipe will get stronger in flavor as it sits. For best results, make it a few hours ahead of when you’ll need it.
  • Use white pepper instead of black in this garlic mayo dip so that you don’t have black flecks running through it.

What To Serve with Creamy Garlic Dipping Sauce

This amazing garlic dipping sauce recipe is perfect with so many things – here are just a few of my favorites:

Storage

Keep your garlic sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Use fresh sour cream and your dipping sauce will keep an additional day or two.
