Put the ice, chocolate milk, and hot cocoa mix into a high-speed blender.

Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and icy; about a minute. If the blades get stuck, use a blender tamper to help things along without pausing the blender.

Pour the mixture into glasses. Mason jars work well since they’re easy to fill and sturdy.

Add whipped cream and chocolate shavings or sprinkles on top if you like. A handheld milk frother is great for quick homemade whipped cream without much cleanup.

Chef Jenn’s Tips

  • Use whole chocolate milk for a richer result, though any kind works.
  • If blending is slow, add a bit more milk to help.
  • For deeper chocolate flavor, try using dark cocoa mix or add a spoon of unsweetened cocoa powder.
  • Drizzle chocolate syrup inside the glass for extra flair.
