Weekly Meal Plan #58

September always puts me in a weird spot — not ready to let go of summer, but craving something cozier. This week splits the difference. A little lighter early on, then it builds toward the kind of comfort food that says fall is coming.

This week’s ingredients span both light and cozy, so check your pantry first for anything you already have. Shopping list is below.

Monday — Air Fryer Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs

Air Fryer Honey Garlic Chicken on a platter.

This is the kind of dinner that makes the transition into fall easier, warm and comforting without turning on the oven. Quick, easy, and always a favorite.

Tuesday — Carne Molida

A plate of seasoned ground meat garnished with fresh herbs, accompanied by lime slices, garlic, and a bowl of diced vegetables.

One skillet and about thirty minutes turn simple pantry ingredients into something that tastes like it’s been cooking all day. A staple I keep coming back to no matter the season.

Wednesday — Chef Jenn’s Sheet Pan Bratwurst & Potatoes

Sheet pan with roasted sausage links, sliced potatoes, carrots, red and green bell peppers, and red onions.

Everything roasts together on the same sheet pan, which means barely any cleanup once dinner’s done. Hearty, simple, and exactly what a cooling evening calls for.

Thursday — Lemon Chicken Orzo Skillet with Broccoli

A Lemon Chicken Orzo Skillet with Broccoli dish featuring golden-brown seasoned chicken thighs on a bed of orzo pasta, garnished with fresh broccoli florets, diced tomatoes, chopped parsley, and lemon slices in the background.

Chicken thighs get a golden sear before orzo and broccoli join in to finish everything together in the same pan. One pan, barely any cleanup, and it tastes like it took a lot more effort than it did.

Friday — Cincinnati Chili

A plate of spaghetti topped with Cincinnati chili, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped onions, with a fork lifting a bite.

The warm spices are what make this one so perfect for the shift into cooler weather, cinnamon and cocoa doing work you wouldn’t expect in a chili. A Midwestern classic worth trying if you never have.

Saturday — Dutch Oven Carnitas

This is the kind of Saturday cooking project that’s mostly hands-off but pays off big at the table. Tacos, nachos, or straight off the plate, it works everywhere.

Sunday — Chicken Marsala Meatballs

Chicken marsala meatballs in a cast iron skillet.

The sauce is really the star here, mushrooms and Marsala wine simmered down until it’s rich enough to spoon over anything. A Sunday dinner that feels a little more special than the effort it takes.

Don’t forget to grab a shopping list. Whether you’re still holding onto summer or ready for fall, this week’s got you covered. Time to cook!
