Ingredients

For the Waffles

Accompaniments

  • 2–3 mini croissants
  • 4–6 slices Swiss roll
  • 4–6 heart-shaped sugar cookies
  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup Nutella
  • ½ cup red jam
  • 1 cup strawberries hulled and halved
  • 1 cup blueberries

Optional Toppings

Instructions

  • Preheat the heart-shaped waffle maker. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir just until smooth.
  • Cook the batter in the preheated waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions, about 3–5 minutes per waffle, until golden and cooked through.
  • Arrange the waffles on a large serving board. Add the croissants, Swiss roll slices, and heart-shaped cookies around the waffles.
  • Place small bowls of cream cheese, chocolate spread, and jam on the board. Fill in the remaining space with strawberries and blueberries.
  • Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with honey if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

Chef Jenn’s Tips

  • Use store-bought pastries to save time and keep prep simple.
  • Warm the waffles just before assembling the board for the best texture.
  • Group items in sections so guests can easily serve themselves.
  • Balance sweet pastries with fresh fruit for contrast.
