Lemon-Ginger Hot Toddy Mix

Made in your slow cooker to infuse the liquid with flavor, this Lemon-Ginger Hot Toddy mix is perfect with or without a shot of rum or whiskey!

Equipment

  • 1 Slow cooker

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 1 cup honey
  • 2-3 inch fresh ginger long pieces, cut into chunks
  • 1 lemon the peel from one lemon
  • 1.5 ounce rum or whiskey, per 4-5 ounces of Hot Toddy mix.

Instructions

  • Combine water, lemon juice, honey, ginger, and lemon peel in a slow cooker. Set it on high for 3-4 hours to let the flavors infuse.
  • Strain the mixture and return it to the slow cooker to keep it warm and inviting.
  • To serve, add 1.5 oz of rum or whiskey to about 4-5 ounces of the hot toddy mix. Stir gently.
  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick and a slice of lemon and enjoy!

Notes

Chef Jenn's Tips

  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey according to your preference.
  • If you're using rum instead of whiskey, opt for a dark rum to complement the ginger and lemon flavors.
  • This drink can also be enjoyed as a non-alcoholic beverage. Simply skip the alcohol and sip on the warm spiced lemon-ginger blend.
