Ingredients

  • 60 ml Grant’s Triple Wood 12 a smooth, rich whisky with notes of vanilla and honey
  • 25 ml fresh lemon juice adding a bright, tangy kick
  • 15 ml maple syrup for that perfect balance of sweetness and depth
  • orange twist a citrusy pop to finish the drink

Instructions

  • Start by chilling your rocks glass. Fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to keep it cool.
  • Combine the whisky, lemon juice, and maple syrup in a cocktail shaker.
  • Fill your shaker with plenty of ice to ensure a well-chilled drink once the ingredients are in.
  • Shake the mixture hard for about 10-15 seconds to combine all the flavors and create a slight froth from the citrus.
  • Remove the ice water from your chilled rocks glass.
  • Pour the mixture into your prepared glass filled with fresh ice using a strainer.
  • Take an orange twist, gently twist it over the drink to release its oils, and place it on top of the drink for a final aromatic touch.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Chef Jenn’s Tips

  • Always use fresh lemon juice! It adds a bright, tangy flavor that bottled juice just can’t replicate.
  • For a deeper smoky flavor, you can torch the orange twist before adding it to the drink. Just run a flame over the peel for a few seconds to release even more aromatic oils.
  • Don’t skimp on the maple syrup—real maple syrup adds a rich depth of flavor, balancing the tangy lemon and smoky whisky perfectly.
  • Chilling your glass might seem like a small step, but it really makes a difference in keeping your cocktail refreshing and crisp.
  • If you like your drinks on the sweeter side, you can add an extra splash of maple syrup, but be careful not to overpower the whisky’s complex flavors.
