Four air fryer corn on the cob are arranged on a white rectangular plate next to a floral-patterned cloth.

ingredients

  • Corn on the cob – I like using fresh corn for the sweetest flavor.
  • Olive oil (or your favorite cooking oil) – Any neutral oil works too; I usually brush lightly to avoid soggy kernels.
  • Salt – I cook with kosher salt.
  • Pepper – Freshly cracked black pepper has the best flavor.

How To Make Roasted Air Fryer Corn on the Cob

Shuck the corn, removing all the husks and silk. Pat the cobs dry with a paper towel so the oil and seasoning stick evenly.

Three ears of husked corn were arranged on a dark slate plate.

Drizzle about 1 tablespoon of oil over each cob and use your hands to rub it all over, making sure every part is coated. Sprinkle the corn with salt and pepper to taste.

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 3–5 minutes. Arrange the cobs in the basket in a single layer, leaving space between each so the heat circulates properly. Cook for 10 minutes, turning halfway through.

Check for doneness and add 2–3 extra minutes if needed to get the corn nicely roasted and slightly charred. Serve hot.

Chef Jenn’s Tips

  • This corn is delicious on its own with a generous pat of butter, but you can sprinkle it with chili powder, give it a squeeze of lime, or even sprinkle with chipotle powder for a bit of a kick.
  • Cook this corn on the lowest rack of your air fryer – if possible.
  • Turn the corn over halfway through the cooking time to ensure even roasting
  • Oil is essential – rub it all over the cobs so that they cook evenly

serving suggestions

I LOVE this recipe and serve this air fryer corn with all sorts of tasty dishes, including Chicken Marsala Meatballs, Smoked Chicken Thighs, and this Mediterranean Chicken Bake. When I want a lighter meal, I serve it with vegan fried rice – delish!
