Big, bold, and packed with flavor, Brisket Fried Rice is the perfect way to use leftover brisket, or when you just want something different. It’s an easy recipe to make, and you can make this fried rice on your Blackstone griddle (instructions below) or in a skillet on your stovetop.

There are no fancy ingredients in this recipe, and I borrowed cooking techniques from Asian fried rice to create the meatiest, most delicious fried rice on the planet.

Yes, this is the best fried rice – hands down. And, after one bite, I’m sure you’ll agree! Move over soy sauce and say hello to Southwestern flavors which infuse this easy fried rice dish from the first bite to the last!

Ingredients

  • Oil – Any cooking oil will work.
  • Day-old white rice – Long grain rice that’s been cooked and chilled the day before makes the best fried rice.
  • Onion – Red, yellow or white onion is fine.
  • Red bell pepper – Or green, yellow, or orange.
  • Garlic – Fresh garlic cloves.
  • Jalapeno – Use as much as you like to get it as spicy as you like it.
  • Brisket – Leftover brisket chopped into smallish pieces.
  • Chipotle Tabasco Sauce – Add some spice! Regular Tabasco Sauce or your favorite hot sauce also works.
  • Worcestershire Sauce – Dig that bottle out from the back of the fridge!
  • Egg – Just 1 egg unless you like it eggier.
  • Lime juice
  • Salt and pepper

And to garnish:

  • Sliced green onions
  • Cilantro – Chopped finely.
  • Avocado – Diced or sliced.

What Kind Of Brisket Do You Use to Make Brisket Fried Rice?

The beauty of this easy recipe is that you can use ANY kind of brisket. I love making this dish with leftover smoked brisket, but you can just as easily make it with braised brisket or even pre-cooked store-bought brisket. HEBs in Texas sell fully-smoked and sliced hickory smoked briskets in big slabs which makes it really easy to make this dish!

I would suggest, however, to not use super saucy brisket. The flavors of the BBQ sauce will change the end flavor of this dish. Scrap off any excess BBQ sauce before adding the brisket to this dish.

How To Make Brisket Fried Rice

  1. Add the oil to the skillet, then saute the onions, garlic, bell pepper, and jalapeno.
  2. Add the cold rice and brisket to the skillet and mix well.
  3. Stir in the Chipotle Tabasco and Worcestershire sauces.
  4. Whisk the egg in a small bowl.
  5. Make a hole in the middle of the rice (adding more oil if necessary) and add the whisked egg. Stir it around inside the hole to cook the egg, then when it’s partially cooked, mix it into the rest of the rice.
  6. Season the rice with lime juice, salt, and pepper, adding more Tabasco if needed.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions, chopped cilantro, and avocado. Dig in!

How To Make Brisket Fried Rice On Your Blackstone Griddle

  1. Preheat your Blackstone griddle (or another outdoor griddle) as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. Add some oil to one spot on the griddle, then cook the onions, jalapenos, bell pepper, and garlic.
  3. Add oil to another spot on the griddle and add the rice.
  4. When the onions are cooked, mix the onion mixture with the rice and mix well.
  5. Add the Chipotle Tabasco and Worcestershire sauce to the rice and mix.
  6. Whisk the egg in a small bowl and add it to an empty spot on the griddle. Cook it about 2/3 of the way then mix it into the rice.
  7. Season the rice with lime juice, salt, and pepper, adding more Tabasco if needed.
  8. Garnish with sliced green onions, chopped cilantro, and avocado. Dig in!
